SOFTPLAY AREA
At Newbridge Lower School, we are extremely fortunate to have a fully equipped softplay area which is both safe and enjoyable for our pupils.
Soft play helps with engagement and increased communication and allows children to relax as they are in a closed-off and safe space. Soft play is a safe, exciting environment to explore and help develop a wide range of skills, such as motor skills, social skills and creativity. It offers a way for pupils to interact with peers and develop important life skills. The soft play area encourages large motor development by stepping, climbing, crawling, jumping and rolling and the bright, colourful, fun space stimulates senses. It also aids self-regulation for pupils who need a boisterous rough and tumble.
The softplay area also has a ceiling track hoist support frame and many of our pupils participate in their physiotherapy programmes whilst enjoying the soft room. It is a firm favourite with our pupils and a room essential to the development of our students fine and gross motor skills.

Welcome to the Virtual Tour for Newbridge Lower School which is located in Gresham Drive.
Newbridge Lower School caters for pupils between the ages of 2 and 11 years of age and provide a full range of highly differentiated and personalised classroom activities based on either the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (for pupils under the age of 5) or primary aged Curriculum, enabling all our pupils to enjoy and achieve throughout their time with us. Learning opportunities in the local community are also provided, particularly as the students get older. These include sessions in the local swimming pool, pony riding at a specialist riding school and trips to the Local Authority Drama Centre. There is also a varied programme of lunchtime clubs for older pupils and opportunities to take part in after school and holiday activities.
Lower School has a large number of teaching and support staff, skilled in working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and an extensive range of teaching resources and specialist facilities. Pupils are based in a small class group with a teacher and a minimum 3 Learning Support Assistants, who work closely with other professionals such as therapists and specialist peripatetic teachers to ensure that learning and care is personalised to the needs of each individual.

Newbridge Lower School caters for pupils between the ages of 2 and 11 years of age and provide a full range of highly differentiated and personalised classroom activities based on either the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (for pupils under the age of 5) or primary aged Curriculum, enabling all our pupils to enjoy and achieve throughout their time with us. Learning opportunities in the local community are also provided, particularly as the students get older. These include sessions in the local swimming pool, pony riding at a specialist riding school and trips to the Local Authority Drama Centre. There is also a varied programme of lunchtime clubs for older pupils and opportunities to take part in after school and holiday activities.
Lower School has a large number of teaching and support staff, skilled in working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and an extensive range of teaching resources and specialist facilities. Pupils are based in a small class group with a teacher and a minimum 3 Learning Support Assistants, who work closely with other professionals such as therapists and specialist peripatetic teachers to ensure that learning and care is personalised to the needs of each individual.
TUFF TRAYS
Tuff Trays are used within the school in a number of ways. One of the ways is for sensory play. They are easy to clean and their raised sides contain most of the mess too.

At Newbridge Lower School, the health and safety of our pupils is our primary concern and our team implement the planning and delivery of our health services to ensure it is tailored to each of their requirements.
At Newbridge School the health and wellbeing of our pupils is our primary concern and the NELFT team based at the school support to implement the delivery of our health service to ensure it is tailored to each individual pupil. Each Newbridge School site has a full time NELFT or NHS Registered Paediatric Nurse who works to support families, helping to meet their child’s health care needs. The team are responsible for supporting and referring to specialist services as necessary.
The nursing team also provide advice and support to families helping to meet their children’s health care needs. The team are responsible for sign-posting to and referring to specialist services as necessary, sourcing relevant information, liaising with and when appropriate taking the Lead Professional role in conjunction with the family and other health care professionals.

Our School Canteen caters for all of our students and staff members and our kitchen team offer a wide range of food for all dietary requirements.
ISS are the current providers of Newbridge School meals over the lunch-time period.In order to meet individual eating/drinking needs, the NELFT specialist Speech and Language Therapy Dysphagia team support the school to ensure that menus are adapted and that individual feeding plans and staff training/advice is in place. Pupils are provided with adaptive cutlery, if needed, on advise of an therapist to aid their independence in eating. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals. If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you receive one of the listed qualifying benefits, they will also be eligible for Free School Meals.
CANTEEN
AREA
Our School Canteen caters for all of our students and staff members and our kitchen team offer a wide range of food for all dietry requirements.
There is a daily morning snack, afternoon snack, and at lunchtime a choice of main courses, one of which being a vegetarian option. Parents are provided with a menu in advance of each week and are able to select the food they would like their children to be served each day.
